1. Overview
The Sit-to-Stand Test Application is designed to help users measure and track their lower limb strength through standardized five-repetition sit-to-stand tests. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
2. Free vs. Pro Features
The Application offers both a free version and a Pro version (one-time purchase of $1.99 USD):
Free Version:
- Limited to one test per day
- Displays banner and interstitial advertisements
- Basic test results and timing data
- AdMob collects device and usage data for personalized advertising
Pro Version:
- Unlimited daily tests
- No advertisements
- User profile management for tracking multiple individuals
- Detailed per-repetition analytics and smoothness scores
- Age-based normative comparison data
- Export features (PDF reports and CSV data files)
Important: When you upgrade to Pro, advertising services are immediately disabled and ad-related data collection stops. Your purchase is tied to your Google Play or App Store account and automatically restores when you reinstall the application on any device using the same account.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following information is stored ONLY on your device and is NEVER transmitted to our servers:
- Test Results: Completion times, repetition counts, timestamps
- Profile Information (Pro users): Name, age, optional medical condition notes
- Historical Data: All past test results and progress tracking
- User Preferences: App settings and configurations
All local data is stored using encrypted database technology (Room Database) and remains under your complete control.
3.2 Automatically Collected Information
The Application collects limited technical information to function properly:
- Device Internet Protocol address (IP address)
- Operating system type and version
- Device model and manufacturer
- Application usage statistics (pages visited, features used)
- Time and date of app access
- App version and crash reports
The Application does NOT collect precise location data.
3.3 Sensor Data
The Application requires access to your device's accelerometer sensor to:
- Detect sit-to-stand movements during tests
- Count repetitions automatically
- Calculate movement smoothness (Pro feature)
This sensor data is processed in real-time on your device only and is not transmitted externally. Only the resulting test scores are saved locally.

- Purpose: Processes in-app purchases for Pro upgrade

7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Access and Control Your Data
- View Data: All your test results and profiles are accessible within the Application
- Delete Individual Items: Delete specific test results or user profiles in the app
- Export Data (Pro): Export your data as PDF reports or CSV files
- Complete Removal: Uninstall the Application to delete all local data
7.2 Stop Advertisements
- Upgrade to Pro version ($1.99 one-time) to remove all advertisements
- Once upgraded, AdMob immediately stops collecting advertising data
- No recurring subscription - one payment for lifetime ad-free access
7.3 Opt-Out of Data Collection
- Analytics: Contact us to opt-out of anonymized analytics collection
- Complete Opt-Out: Uninstall the Application to stop all data collection
7.4 Request Data Deletion

We will respond within 48 hours and complete your request within 30 days.
8. Data Retention
- Local Data: Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app

- Purchase Records: Retained by Google Play/App Store for account management

18.2 Valid Refund Reasons
Common valid reasons that may qualify for refunds include:

Refund approval is at the sole discretion of Google Play or Apple App Store according to their policies.

18.4 Post-Refund Access
If a refund is granted by Google Play or Apple App Store:
- Your Pro features will be automatically revoked the next time the app connects to the store
- You will return to the free tier with all free tier limitations
- All locally stored data (test results and profiles) remains on your device
- You can export your data (if done before refund) and it will remain accessible
- You can re-purchase Pro at any time if you change your mind
18.5 Refund Processing Time
- Google Play: Instant refunds within 48 hours; 3-5 business days for later requests
- Apple App Store: Typically processed within 48 hours of approval
- Refunds appear on your original payment method
Important Notice: All purchase transactions and refund decisions are made solely by Google Play Store or Apple App Store according to their respective policies. The developer (Sanchit Aggarwal) does not have the ability to issue refunds, override platform decisions, or access your payment information. For any payment or refund inquiries, you must contact the respective app store directly.
18.6 No Refund for Misuse
Refunds will not be issued by the platforms for:
- Change of mind after extensive use of Pro features
- Violation of terms of service
- Failure to read feature descriptions before purchase
- Device compatibility issues clearly stated in store listing
Please ensure you understand the Pro features by using the free version before purchasing.
19. Terms of Service
19.1 Service Availability
The Sit-to-Stand Test Application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
- Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of results
We do not guarantee that the Application will always be available, functional, or compatible with future versions of Android, iOS, or device hardware.
19.2 Right to Discontinue Service
The Service Provider (Sanchit Aggarwal) reserves the right to:
- Discontinue development, updates, or maintenance at any time
- Stop providing support for the Application
- Remove the Application from app stores
- Terminate the service with or without notice
No refunds will be issued if the Application is discontinued, as you have purchased the current feature set, not a guarantee of future development.
19.3 No Guarantee of Future Compatibility
Technology evolves rapidly, and we cannot guarantee:
- Compatibility with future Android or iOS operating system versions
- Support for new device models or hardware
- Continued functionality after major platform updates
- Migration to new technologies or frameworks
While we will make reasonable efforts to maintain compatibility, no obligation exists to update the Application for future platform versions.
19.4 "Feature Complete" Status
The Pro version ($1.99 one-time purchase) is sold as a "feature complete" product, meaning:
- You are purchasing the current set of features as described in the App Store listing
- All advertised Pro features are fully functional at the time of purchase
- Future feature additions, if any, are NOT guaranteed and provided at our discretion
- Bug fixes and minor updates may be provided but are not contractually obligated
Important Notice on One-Time Purchases: The $1.99 Pro upgrade is a
one-time payment for the current feature set, NOT a subscription or lifetime support contract. You receive:

- ✓ Perpetual License: Continued use of purchased features on compatible devices
- ✓ Purchase Restoration: Automatic restoration when reinstalling on the same account
- ✗ NOT Included: Guaranteed future updates, new feature development, or lifetime maintenance
- ✗ NOT Included: Compatibility with future OS versions beyond reasonable support window
19.5 Reasonable Support Window
While not legally obligated, we intend to provide:
- Bug fixes and critical updates for a reasonable period (typically 6-12 months minimum)
- Compatibility updates for major OS releases when feasible

This support window is provided as a courtesy, not a contractual obligation, and may be extended or shortened based on development resources and user base.
19.6 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- This includes damages for loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses
- Total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount paid for the Pro version ($1.99 USD)
- No liability exists for issues arising from discontinued service or lack of future updates
19.7 User Responsibilities
As a user of the Application, you agree to:
- Use the Application only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Application
- Not use the Application for critical health decisions without professional medical consultation
- Maintain backups of important data (the Application provides export features for this purpose)
- Review the feature list carefully before purchasing the Pro version
19.8 Medical Disclaimer
This Application is NOT a medical device and is not intended for medical diagnosis or treatment. The sit-to-stand test results:
- Are for informational and fitness tracking purposes only
- Should not replace professional medical assessment
- May not be accurate for all individuals or conditions
- Should be interpreted by qualified healthcare professionals
Always consult with qualified healthcare providers for medical advice. The Service Provider assumes no responsibility for health outcomes related to Application use.
19.9 Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where the Service Provider resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these terms or use of the Application shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
19.10 Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
19.11 Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Sit-to-Stand Test Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Application and request a refund through your app store within the applicable refund window.
